Chapter Philanthropy

Our Sigma Kappa founders left us with a lasting impression of the importance of philanthropy. Service is one of Sigma Kappa's founding values, and as such, members of Sigma Kappa support multiple philanthropic causes.

Sigma Kappa Foundation

Every Spring, our chapter hosts "Sigma Kappa Taco Dinner" which supports all four of our national philanthropies through the Sigma Kappa Foundation. At this event, people from all over campus attend our all-you-can-eat taco bar with live music.

Inherit the Earth

This past spring, some of our Beta Nu's proudly volunteered at the Earth Day festival, in honor of one of our philanthropies, Inherit The Earth, and also at Easter Seals in Peoria, IL.

Sigma Kappas participate in Cards That Care which is a community wide card making event to benefit  patients of OSF-St.Francis Hospital. Several events are hosted throughout the year. Members also visited a nursing home to do crafts and make birdhouses.

Alzheimer's Association

Additionally, every fall our members participate in the Peoria Walk to End Alzheimer's. Every Sigma Kappa across the nation partakes in their community's 5k walk. This is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research.
